WHICH GREAT BARRIER REEF TOUR SHOULD I CHOOSE

The best Great Barrier Reef tour depends on how you want to experience it. You can snorkel the reef, try scuba diving, visit an island or head further out to the Outer Reef. Trip length, departure point, group size and what’s included can make a big difference.

How You’ll Explore

Snorkelling trips
Best for first-time reef visitors who want an easy day on the water with plenty of time to snorkel.

Scuba diving trips
Ideal if you want to get underwater and experience the reef more closely. Look for introductory dives if you’re not already certified.

Outer Reef trips
Great if seeing coral and marine life is the priority. These trips travel further offshore to dedicated reef sites.

Island & reef trips
A good option if you want to combine snorkelling with time on islands such as Green Island or Fitzroy Island.

HOW TO FIND CHEAPER GREAT BARRIER REEF TOURS
